Fletcher Gallery
The Fletcher Gallery will honor veterans in May.
One wall will list the names of those veterans who
were born, lived, died or were buried in the Mendhams
from the Revolutionary War to the present-day
conflicts. The listing will contain each veteran’s
name, their date of birth and death, their branch of
service, the name of war/conflict, if applicable,
and their place of burial. This is an ongoing
project and visitors are invited to add information
directly to the list.
Columbian artist Liliano Velasco will present her
bold vibrant work in the month of May. Using
simple forms, each painting contains a deliberate
message meant to be interpreted by the viewer. This
is Velasco’s first show in the United States.
Fletcher Gallery Curio Cabinet
Robert Kumpf, who has written articles for the Observer
Tribune about his recent Iraqi experience will have
artifacts from his tour of duty in the curio cabinet. Other displays will include photos and clippings ofveterans, the membership roll ofAmerican Legion post #315 and a diagram depicting the burial sites of veterans at Hilltop Presbyterian Church.
